Video Art: Journey, Life and Play
In collaboration with British artist Dewi Cary and Nepali artist Sanjay Bantawa, supported by Kye Wilson Studios, curator Beth Troakes, and Sagar Prasai (Diverse Patterns), our ambitious endeavor was made possible thanks to the generous support of Unlimited Microgrants. This project unfolded over the course of four transformative months, from September to December 2022.
Each month, both artists engaged in the creative process, crafting 1-minute experimental videos inspired by the themes of 'Journey,' 'Life,' and 'Play.' What made this collaboration truly unique was the ongoing dialogue between the artists. They provided insightful comments and constructive feedback on each other's work, fostering a deep connection and creative synergy.
As the project progressed, these individual cinematic expressions evolved into a mesmerizing digital tapestry. The films were skillfully woven together, seamlessly blending the distinct perspectives of Dewi Cary and Sanjay Bantawa into a captivating 3-minute artwork. This collaborative masterpiece transcended geographical boundaries, making it accessible to audiences worldwide, thanks to the power of video art.
Throughout this creative journey, despite the artists living and working in different cultural contexts, remarkable similarities emerged in their work. This not only underscored the existence of a universal aesthetic language but also celebrated the shared humanity that unites us all.
The Unlimited Microgrants played a pivotal role in making this artistic exploration possible, allowing Diverse Patterns and its collaborators to push the boundaries of international artistry, crossing borders, and bringing together diverse voices in a harmonious celebration of creativity and shared experiences.

Opening Doors and Markets: The Power of Accessible Websites in Business

Introduction
In today's digital age, accessibility isn't just a buzzword; it's a game-changer. It's about making sure that everyone, regardless of their abilities, can access and use your website. But here's the exciting part: it's not just the right thing to do; it's also a smart business move.
Think of it this way: when you make your website accessible, you're not only opening your digital doors to a wider audience but also boosting your business potential. It's about creating a win-win situation where everyone benefits.
In this blog post, we're going to explore why accessible websites are a secret weapon for business success. We'll delve into the tangible benefits of accessibility, from improving your search engine visibility to enhancing your brand's reputation and reaching new markets.
So, if you're curious about how web accessibility can not only enrich lives but also elevate your business, keep reading. You're about to discover the powerful connection between inclusive design and profitability.
Why Accessibility Matters for Business
You might be wondering, why should businesses care about web accessibility? Well, it's not just about doing the right thing (although that's important too); it's about making smart business moves.
Let's break it down: When your website is accessible, it's like you're saying, "Hey, everyone, come on in!" You're welcoming a diverse crowd of potential customers, clients, and partners. And here's the kicker – they're more likely to stick around and engage with your site.
Think about it this way: When your website is easy to navigate, when text and images make sense, and when anyone can use it, you're setting the stage for a positive user experience. And what happens when people have a good experience? They're more likely to do business with you. It's that simple.
But it doesn't stop there. An accessible website can help improve your search engine ranking too. That means more people find your site when they're searching for what you offer. So, not only are you expanding your audience, but you're also increasing your chances of getting noticed.
Enhancing Brand Reputation
Now, let's talk about something every business holds dear: its reputation. Think of your brand as your digital identity. How people perceive your brand matters a lot, and accessibility plays a big role here.
When you commit to making your website accessible, you're telling the world that you care about everyone's needs. You're not just interested in making a sale; you're interested in making a difference.
This commitment to inclusivity can leave a positive mark on your brand's reputation. It's like telling your audience, "We're not just here to do business; we're here to make the world a better place."
And guess what? People notice. Customers appreciate businesses that take social responsibility seriously. They're more likely to support a brand that stands for something meaningful. In this section, we'll explore how web accessibility can elevate your brand's image, creating a win-win situation for both your business and society.
Expanding Market Reach
Picture this: Your website is like a storefront in a bustling marketplace. But here's the catch – it's a marketplace where everyone, regardless of their abilities, is welcome.
When you make your website accessible, you're saying, "We're here for you, no matter who you are or how you interact with the web." And that's not just a kind gesture; it's a savvy business move.
Why? Because people with disabilities represent a significant market. By making your website accessible, you're tapping into a customer base that might have been overlooked. It's like discovering a new market right on your doorstep.
But here's the beauty of it: accessibility isn't just for people with disabilities. It's for everyone. An accessible website is a user-friendly website, and a user-friendly website attracts and retains customers.
Reducing Legal and Reputational Risks
Now, let's talk about something that might keep you up at night – legal and reputational risks. In today's digital age, being accessible isn't just a nice-to-have; it's often a legal requirement.
Laws like the Disability Rights Act (DRA) mandate that businesses provide accessible digital spaces. Non-compliance can lead to costly lawsuits and damage your brand's reputation.
But here's the good news: by proactively embracing accessibility, you can protect your business from these risks. You're not just checking boxes; you're safeguarding your future.
