Our Objective
"The primary objective of this project was to address the lack of awareness among persons with disabilities regarding the impact of climate change due to inaccessible climate information. The project aimed to educate individuals with disabilities about these issues and advocate for their needs concerning climate justice to stakeholders."
Project Overview
Blind Youth Association Nepal conducted a research study focusing on the impact of climate change on individuals with disabilities. To communicate their findings, they partnered with Diverse Patterns to produce key informational materials. This included an executive summary in Nepali and a fact sheet available in both Nepali and English. Additionally, they developed two explanatory videos — one in Nepali and another in English — to provide visual and audio insights into the research findings and the broader implications of climate change on persons with disabilities. The project was essential for raising awareness and advocating for climate justice for disabled communities, addressing the gap created by the previously inaccessible climate information.
